KILLER SHORTS

KILLER SHORTS

A horror screenwriting contest deserves an identity with a real personality, not generic stock visuals. Killer Shorts had a bold mission, but an inconsistent visual identity. Lacking a unified aesthetic across platforms, they struggled to establish a memorable presence in a crowded space so together we created a brand that felt like a true homage to the genre.

The refreshed visual identity leans hard into vintage horror illustration and pulp-comic nostalgia, rendered with tactile halftone textures and bright accents cut against dark backdrops. Over the past three consecutive contest seasons, I created the key artwork that expanded into posters, custom laurels, social media graphics and animations.

By creating a cohesive, retro-inspired horror universe, we built Killer Shorts in an unmistakable brand that commands attention both from emerging scriptwriters and industry judges.
